New Patch For Resistance And Liberation

If it wasn't for this guy, they'd be speaking French right now!

This one was slipped in midday last Friday*, but it’s still fresh news. It’s an update for Player’s Choice Mod-Of-The-Year contender, the Half-Life 2 mod Resistance and Liberation. While open Beta testing – not the full Beta release, mind you; that comes later – only started on the 15th, the results have already been spectacular. R&L Development claims that they’ve “found and fixed more bugs in one week of Open Beta testing than in months of closed testing.” As a reward, the patch comes with a metric f-ton of changes making the recreation of the 82nd Airborne’s Nazi Killing adventures in France even more Nazi killingtastic.

Fans presumably are celebrating by luring Hitler to an all-star gala movie opening in Paris, where they intend to kill him with the timely assistance of a self-serving colonel who happens to love FPS games more than invading Russia. Interested in joining the fight against pixelated nazi thugs? Download the open beta here; get the patch here.

*here’s a hint guys, Fridays are for dumping news you want people to miss, you know, like admitting that your handling of an oil spill isn’t going as swimmingly as you’d claimed. Mondays is for owning the news cycle. Carry on.
