New Playable Character Class Announced for Borderlands 2
Gearbox has announced that a new character class will be joining the ranks of Borderlands 2. His name is Krieg, and he’s a psycho. Krieg will be available as a DLC for $9.99 in May.
Krieg is based on the Psychos commonly seen throughout the Borderlands of Pandora, and like his non-player character counterparts, players will be rewarded for performing insane, high-risk actions like running into crowds of enemies.
Like Zer0 and Brick from the first Borderlands, Krieg is a melee-oriented character whose action skill is Blood Axe Rampage, which allows him to regain health as he chops his enemies to pieces. Krieg’s skill trees are Bloodlust, Mania, and Hellborn.
Krieg’s Bloodlust skill tree is based upon dealing constant damage, with increased bonuses for killing enemies with grenades and explosives, and an increased chance to find grenade ammo. The Mania tree rewards Krieg for taking massive damage, and decreases his action skill cooldown whenever he gets hit. Krieg can also absorb damage taken by his teammates. The Hellborn tree is focused on fire elemental damage, allowing Krieg to do more damage when he’s on fire. Additionally, Krieg will have a chance to self-ignite each time he hits an enemy.
The new character is not included as a part of the game’s DLC Season Pass, so you’ll have to pick it up separately.
