New Sci-Fi FPS Repulse Enters Closed Beta

Aeria Games has announced closed beta testing has begun for Repulse, its newest free-to-play sci-fi FPS. Repulse pits class-based soldiers in fast-paced PvP and PvE battles fueled by an arsenal of futuristic weaponry and enhanced movement abilities.

Repulse features nine different game modes, each with a unique objective, including Capture the Flag, Death Match, and Invasion. Dozens of forum contests, Facebook giveaways, and in-game events will take place during the closed beta.

If you haven’t seen it, here’s a gameplay trailer from November:

As a big fan of Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 Arena, I love sci-fi FPS games, and Repulse’s movement mechanic me reminds me of the trick jumps that I love so much from UT and Q3A. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this title.

Visit the Repulse official website for more information.

Graphics suck, I would need something equal to bf3 or better.

I know graphics have never really been a factor for weather a game is great or not but sometimes gamers need to put there foot down and say hell no we want better!

I feel like we are going backwards, after 2 decades of amazing graphic improvements we suddenly got a huge crapload of indy games and minecraft like games that seem to be pushing us backwards, its now cool and trendy to have games with the same visual look as most iphone games, let’s do a poor job on a video game and call it artistic.

It’s a free-to-play game… You’re not paying for AAA graphics. You’re not paying at all ;)

Yeah, because they don’t have to put so much time, money and manpower into those cutting edge AAA graphics they can instead spend those resources to, you know, actually make the game fun.

I would much prefer development time be spent on balancing and gameplay improvements than visual elements. Once the game itself is really tested and refined then they can improve the graphics if they want to.

The graphics may not be stellar, but the game doesn’t look bad, and that’s what matters when it comes to graphics.

The gameplay looks fun, so I’ll try this one out.

I like how people bring up AAA titles like it means something.

AAA nowadays means console limited BS.

This is just Genesis AD. Revived. I’m surprised no one is saying this yet. If anyone has ever played that game. And if you don’t realize that this is the same game, don’t about graphics. Blahblah. This game is like 4 years old. Closed beta or not.
