New Splatterhouse Screens Make Me Want to Take a Shower

If you picked up last week’s issue of EGM, then you’ve probably already seen these new screenshots for the upcoming Splatterhouse. If not though, then you can check out all blood-spewing screens here. The game will be a remake of the arcade classic that tells the story of a young man who is transformed into a muscle-bound behemoth by a magical mask. He then sets out to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend by using the mask’s powers to fight through hordes of monsters. For the remake, the main character’s health won’t be displayed by a bar, but by physical damage that can regenerate over time (hence the skeletonized arm in the screen above). This will of course make the game live up to its name by giving Ninja Gaiden II some competition in the “most over-the-top blood bath” department.

Here’s hoping there’s a PC version in the works. Great looking stuff, glad to see the old classic revived. Can’t wait to see that regeneration in game!

I like the way damage is going to be shown. Looks like it’ll be sweet.
