New to Battlefield 3? This Trailer Will Introduce You to the Open Beta

All this talk about the open beta for Battlefield 3 hitting PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 may have some of you poor, uninitiated souls (read: Call of Duty players) asking yourselves, “What’s the deal with this Bottlefeld game?”

Well, I won’t bother to tell you what the deal is, when I could just let Electronic Arts and DICE fill you in on why you should care. After all, EA wants this to be The Game That Killed CoD. Having spent (a little) time with both the beta and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, I must say that the EA argument is … interesting.

No vehicles in the beta, apparently, although I did see a grenade knock down a tree — that’s destruction, right? I guess?

The open beta used to include Caspian Sea map, but they yanked it because it glitched players to death.

This game is going to be good but anyone expecting a TRUE successor to Battlefield 2 is going to be MAJORLY disappointed.

My favorite from BC2 was stabbing a guy, sometimes 6-7 times in a row, have him not die, only to turn around and get his knife on the first try.

I assume the knife in this game will be f’kt too.

Not that I would know, because I can’t get the game to launch and EA offers ZERO tech support. I knew this Origin crap was going to suck, but only now do I know to what extent.

And because you can’t start the game without the webpage, and therefore can’t see a console to understand why the game will not launch, there’s no way to troubleshoot it. All others with the problem have no clue what’s going on, and EA has nothing to say about why, nor what the cause is.

I hope when the game is released, it will actually work. But again, anyone who’s played previous BF games knows that the game will still be messed up upon release, and will take a few patches to make not suck.

All problems aside, at least its not Call of : Modern Rehash 3.
