New Total War: Rome 2 Video Showcases Naval Warfare

The Creative Assembly has put together a new video for Total War: Rome 2 showcasing the game’s naval warfare, shedding new light on naval tactics and units.

According to the developers, ramming will be a decisive element in winning naval battles, as they provide fast and heavy hull damage to enemies and can even rip smaller ships apart. Additionally, ramming into opposing ships will enable players to board them while long-ranged units provide support with arrow fire.

As with land-based units, Rome 2 players will have an assortment of ships to choose from in their conquest of the ancient world, ranging from fast-moving assault vessels to slower, heavily armed trimemes.

Total War: Rome 2 is set for release early next month.
