New Xbox Live Update Will Add PayPal Support

Fresh on the heels of the addition of Hulu Plus on Xbox Live, Microsoft has another big update coming to its online service for the spring.

The update will start on May 19, coming in six stages, according to documents received by Joystiq.

According to the documents, the update will be distributed in six separate waves between May 19 and May 30 ‘to ensure a high quality deployment.’ Additionally, while not technically part of the automatic update, Avatar Kinect is listed for a May 27 arrival as a separate download.

The update will include support for the new Xbox 360 disc format and the addition of PayPal as a means of payment for Xbox Live. Adding PayPal will be the only user interface adjustment to the network with the update.
