Nexus 2 Seeking Funding for Development

Back in 2004, Mithis Games developed a space strategy game called Nexus: The Jupiter Incident. It flew under a lot of people’s radar, but it was one of my favorite games of the year. For years I’ve waited, hoping against hope that a sequel would be developed. Today, my hopes were realized, sort of.

Over on Gamesplant, the original development team is attempting to raise €400,000 to fund development of Nexus 2. The game is currently listed in pre-production, and there’s a concept trailer that you can watch below. As with most projects of this type, there are tiers of donations that will net you specific rewards. Donating €2,500 or more will even qualify you for a piece of the profits from the game.

If you never played Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, I strongly suggest that you try it out. We’ve still got the playable demo on our site (download it here), and if you like it, the game is available on Steam for $9.99. If you like it as much as I do, you may find yourself funding the sequel. Just like me.
