The Fairy and the Spellbook
Returning with Oliver after the terrible events of the night, he’ll be alone. But not for long. You’ll meet the quick-talking Drippy, and he’ll tell a long story.
A -really- long story. It takes a while, but Oliver will finally team up with Drippy and agree to travel to his parallel world. Before you can, though, you’ll need a spellbook.
The book is in the fireplace. Exit Ollie’s room and run down the steps, then go through the door just beside the front door to enter the living room. Step around the couch and press [X] near the fireplace, when a big explanation point appears over Oliver’s head.
Now you have the Wizard’s Companion! You can check out the contents of the book whenever you want, just press [Triangle] to open the Main Menu then choose the spellbook and press [X].
You can also enter your name. Any name will do, but I like Oliver. Press [Start] when you’re done entering the name.
Next up, Drippy and Oliver are going to need a wand. Anything brown and stick-like will do, according to Drippy.
All you have to do now is talk to Drippy. He’ll run around town, stopping at different spots. Speak with him where he stops, and he’ll run to another location. Just check your map if you ever lose him – he’ll always have a big gold Star at his current location.
After talking to Drippy twice, you’ll gain access to the Bottomless Bag in your Main Menu. It’s the little bag icon in the top left corner after pressing [Triangle]. Nothing to look at there for now, but remember it for later.
Run back down the street after gaining access to the Bottomless Bag, simply follow the big gold Star to your destination. Drippy and Oliver will split up, and that strange green-haired girl will appear.
In the park, walk over to the little girl and speak with her. Another cutscene, and Oliver will get his hands on a wand.
Oliver has a wand and a spellbook! That means, you just need an open space to cast Gateway and travel to another world.
To cast Gateway, Oliver will suggest the Town Square. Run up the street from the park and toward the middle of town. Once you arrive, the Spell book will open with Gateway already selected.
From this spellbook, you can see three tabs; Everyday Spells, Battle Spells, and All Spells. You’ve only got one spell right now, and that’s Gateway.
As you can see, Gateway costs no MP (Magic Points). Other spells will cost MP, so you’ll need to use them wisely. For now, there’s no need to worry. Select Gateway and press [X] to begin your true journey.
