Nielsen Says Assassin’s Creed 3, Halo 4 2012′s Most Anticipated

Nielsen has released the results of a survey tracking the most anticipated video games of 2012, and the results may, or may not, surprise you. I’m kidding, they won’t surprise you at all. Compiling results from Xbox 360, Playstation and Wii users, and somehow managing to write a list of anticipated Wii titles without breaking down and laughing, they’ve determined that you, the gamers, are really looking forward to Assassin’s Creed 3.

It seems 94% of Xbox 360 users, and 98% of PS3 users can’t wait to play the latest Ezio game game in the series that, amazingly, is about someone other than Ezio. In addition, 91% of Xbox owners and 96% of PS3 owners are really jazzed about Max Payne 3. Naturally, the single most anticipated Xbox 360 game is the still-not dated Halo 4. it came in at number 1 with 98%, edging out AC3. As for Wii games? It should probably give you a good idea of how pathetic the Wii’s offerings are in its waning days that the most anticipated title is frickin’ Madden NFL 13, followed by Epic Mickey 2.

Notably missing from the list is a survey of what PC gamers are looking forward to. We assume it’s because the people at Nielsen don’t know how to even use a computer, which is why they missed out on the fastest growing subset of gaming. Surely it’s not because they simply forgot, right?

So what say you, Game Fronters? Since Nielsen apparently doesn’t think you’re actually playing video games, what is it you’re looking forward to in 2012? Let us know in comments.

Pretty excited about “Assassin’s Creed 3″ and “Diablo 3″ looks fun, and I am REALLY looking forward to “Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm.”
But if I have to pick just one, it is “Double Fine Adventure!” Tim Schafer can have all my money if he keeps making games.
