Ninja Gaiden 3 Details Emerge From Shadows To Assasinate The Internet

PlayStation: The Official Magazine has published the latest issue and it contains hell of details about the upcoming Ninja Gaiden III that ought to make fans of both hardcore ninja violence and impossibly difficult games jump for joy. We don’t have our hands on the new issue yet but over on Neogaf, one forum poster has shared some of the details, and their juicy.

First and foremost, players who lamented the reduced bloodshed in Ninja Gaiden II can rest easy: NInja Gaiden 3 is much more visceral. It also runs at 60 frames per second, which guarantees that all this blood is going to look excellent. Unfortunately, the infamous difficulty previous Gaiden games have featured is also continuing. The article confirms there won’t be toned down difficulty for casual gamers. No doubt there will be three difficulty settings: hard, harder and PUNY MORTAL, HOW DARE YOU TOUCH THE FACE OF GOD!

Other details:

* Both competitive and cooperative modes, each supporting up to 8 players.
* Weapons will upgrade through use, as the store has been removed..
* Ryu is the only playable character (at least so far) and the game will focus heavily on his story.
* Possible, but unconfirmed Move support.

That last bit has us most excited. Move would be a perfect fit for a stealth/assassination game. Obviously the other details, scant as they are, are also intriguing, and we’ll be doing our best to get some quality time with Ninja gaiden 3 at E3 in June. A always, we’ll report back to you once we know more. Unless we get thrown out for swearing at the screen and cursing out the programmers who decided that max difficulty is the new ‘casual’.

We’ll leave you with the definitive comment on the series:
