If you’re one of the people holding out for a reduced price on the Wii or DS, well, I wouldn’t hold your breath. Nintendo recently stated that they had no intention of cutting the price of the Wii or the DS this year, due to continually strong sales:
“Our earnings projection for the year is not based on hardware price cuts, and I don’t think we are going to need them,” Nintendo President Satoru Iwata told an analyst meeting on Friday.
Of course, we’ll have to see if they change their tune come Christmas time. I have to agree that they probably don’t need a price cut at this time though, since their consoles have continued to fly off the shelves almost as fast as they can produce them. On the other hand, I also agree with what Epic’s has been saying about the Wii lately, though they could have put it a bit more tactfully.

why would they lower the price of a console thats still sells out and cant stay on the store shelves more then 24 hours at a time. Lowering the price will cause more buzz and more hassle in buying one then there already is right now.
