While we first learned the news last month, we now officially see Nintendo as the second largest company in Japan, trailing only Toyota. Thanks to the power of the Wii and continued world domination by the DS, Nintendo’s market value has doubled itself over last years.
Financial results for the six months preceding September 30 saw net profits soar to 132.4 billion yen, compared with the previous year’s 54.4 billion. As a result, Nintendo has raised its profit forecast for the fiscal year, with an expectation of reaching 275 billion yen.
If this were Shenmue, that would equate to a whole lot of soda and dart games.
