Nintendo has set their sights on U.S. sales by 2012 at one tenth of the U.S. population, or somewhere close to it, anyway.
In the article at Bloomberg.com, George Harrison, marketing chief at Nintendo of America Inc., not to be confused with the member of the Beatles, said Nintendo is increasing its production of Wiis to meet the demand.
“Demand is much greater than we anticipated,” Harrison said in the article. “A year ago no one thought we would be in this position.”
Nintendo has sold 2.5 millions Wiis in the United States so far, which is pretty amazing considering it hasn’t even been out yet for a year.
Let’s face it, though–the old video games you get to choose from and buy for as little as eight bucks are pretty amazing.
