Nintendo’s Lowers Sales Forecasts After Q3 Earnings

Nintendo’s Q3 earnings report has been released, revealing that the company has sold just over 3 million units of its new Wii U console along with 11.69 million pieces of software. The console veteran has also adjusted its sales forecasts downward, with a prediction of 17% lower revenue; however, because the Wii U is sold at a loss, Nintendo’s prediction for net income has actually moved up by eight billion yen ($87 million). The company is showing roughly $160 million in net income for the year, compared with last year’s losses.

As for Nintendo’s other consoles, the 3DS has sold 29.84 million units, the Wii has sold 99.38 million units, and the DS has sold 153.67 million units.
