Nosgoth Trailer Highlights Ongoing Closed Alpha Action
We were all hoping for a new Legacy of Kain, but Nosgoth, the F2P humans-versus-vampires competitive multiplayer, isn’t quite what we had our fingers crossed for.
Still, Nosgoth might not be Legacy of Kain, but it does look like it could be fun. Developer Psyonix (Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars) just released a new “highlight reel” of the action taking place in the ongoing closed alpha, and it does a good job showing off the carnage the various vampire classes can create.
I mentioned this in our fist post on Nosgoth back in September, but it bears repeating: visually, Nosgoth reminds me of Forge, but the actual melee-versus-ranged gameplay looks very much like the dinos-versus-humans multiplayer game, Primal Carnage. I had a blast with Primal Carnage, especially playing as a flying, snatching, and dropping Pteranodon, but unfortunately, the indie game was severely limited by its small budget. Hopefully Psyonix will nail that same intense gameplay but expand upon it with the backing of Square Enix.
Psyonix also used the new trailer to remind us that we can all register now for the Nosgoth closed beta, which it now says is coming “soon.”
