Notch Drops First 0×10^c Footage

Minecraft creator Markus Persson AKA Notch has been working dutifully on his first post-Minecraft project,a space/sci fi game called 0X10^c. 0×10^c concerns the adventures of space travelers from 1988 who spend a tad longer in hibernation than intended. “It’s now the year 281 474 976 712 644 AD, and the first lost people are starting to wake up to a universe on the brink of extinction, with all remote galaxies forever lost to red shift, star formation long since ended, and massive black holes dominating the galaxy.” It promises single player and mutiplayer, hard sci fi (with “lots of engineering”), and other features ranging from funny to serious suggesting we’re getting a 3D version of the old text adventure based on the Hitchiker’s Guide To The Galaxy.

Anyway, Notch has finally released some early test footage from the game to YouTube. And here it is, focused, as he says, on “Physics, bobbing, and guns”.

No doubt he has a long way to go.

But I bet when he is done and moves on to another project it will be a buggy shell of a game that performs badly even on the best of systems.

Still, it will probably be a big hit for some bizarre reason.

Depends on if he takes 6 months of vacation time during a year or not; then it will not perform at all!

deja vu: looks like an Unreal Tournament 1999 mod – made in 30 min.
