Now There are Star Wars Blu-Ray Ads in Deus Ex: Human Revolution!

See that? That’s what the loading screens in Deus Ex: Human Revolution look like when you go into a building or something. And I know that’s real because I personally took that screenshot.

What is that, you ask? It’s an ad for the new Star Wars blu-ray set that came out today. I’m just horrified beyond words right now; I don’t know if it’s because there’s an ad on the loading screen or because the ad is for this stupid blu-ray set, though. Maybe I’m just weirded out by all aspects of this.

Ahaha, I guess they assume that all Deus Ex nerds like me are Star Wars nerds also.

I wish I could say it wasn’t true ;)

I haven’t check my version but if I see that ad I’m turning my game in for trade in credits. I can still get about $42. That pisses me off. Especially for a movie franchise that’s destroyed by George Lucas. Every time I play I have to see that stupid ad? I swear I’ll trade my copy in if I see that.

What? Seriously? And that’s conuous, too. Stick it in game, and make it in universe (such as “on Blu-ray and *insert future tech here*”), or don’t do it at all. Heck, don’t even make it in universe, just don’t put in ads for stuff that would be dated in 2027. We paid for the game, and they probably don’t get ad dollars for pirates, so what’s the point? Charging us another tax? The reason I loved HR so much was it felt genuine, and now they’re ruining it with money grabs.

I played through the first stage from the start and I didn’t see any ad. Maybe its just the PC version. Still I don’t like the direction this is going. Exactly what SquireZed said, we paid full release price for this game and they’re going to start putting obnoxious ads. I’ll boycott any games that do that.

“Boycott”, it always sounds like the FBI will be all over me if I say that in public. Not to mention Chris Hansen.
