Original story below.

Get ‘em while they’re hot!

Nvidia released new beta GeForce graphics card drivers today, promising better performance across the board for 600 series card owners. These latest beta drivers have Far Cry 3 in their sights, as GeForce.com claims a 37% boost in performance over the current 306.67 WHQL drivers.

But the claimed performance boosts don’t stop there. In over twenty tested games, from Metro 2033 to Stalker to Battlefield 3, performance gains were seen across the board. The biggest boost, aside from Far Cry 3, is found in Black Ops II, which saw “Performance increased by 26% at 1920×1080 when using max settings and 8xMSAA.” (emphasis added by us)

Other improvements include TXAA support for Black Ops II, improved Sparse Grid Supersampling (SGSSAA) support, bug fixes for Assassin’s Creed III, and improved performance for other new titles, including Hitman: Absolution and Planetside 2.

There’s no word on when these latest beta drivers will turn WHQL-certified, but keep both eyes open for new beta and official driver downloads.

These are not BETA drivers, they are WHQL certified, Gamefront made a mistake

@Devillord2009

They are WHOL-candidate, which means they are not yet certified, and still in beta. The GeForce site lists them as such: “310.70 – BETA”. They will likely be certified soon, but it hasn’t happened yet.

If you click on the Driver Download button (at least for me), it still links to the old 306.97 drivers.
