Nvidia Releases New 313.95 Beta Drivers Ahead of Crysis 3 Beta
The Crysis 3 open beta starts tomorrow, and Nvidia has some fresh new drivers to go along with it.
Posted on the GeForce.com blog earlier today, Nvidia claims these new beta drivers will offer performance bumps across the board, although the only numbers offered in reference to Crysis 3 are from a GTX 690. Using an Intel Core i7-3960X, an Asus Rampage IV Extreme motherboard, and 8 GB of RAM, Nvidia compared performance between the WHQL-certified 310.90 drivers and the new 313.95 beta drivers. Using the two-GPU-one-board GTX 690, “Performance increased by 65.3% at 1920×1080 when using max settings and TXAA Medium.” Dialing down to 4x MSAA yielded a more modest 35.3% framerate bump.
Along with tweaks for the Crysis 3 beta come improvements for a slew of PC games. DmC: Devil May Cry finally gets an SLI profile, while Warframe’s profile nabbed an unspecified update. Ubisoft games get plenty of love as well, as Assassin’s Creed 3 and Far Cry 3 net various performance gains, including GTX 670-based performance boosts of 23.3% and 6.6%, respectively.
