According to the Bethesda Forums, the anticipated PSP version of Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion has been delayed, maybe indefinitely. Apparently, the developer the game was outsourced to ran into a number of problems that may have been the game’s undoing:
“If the rumors are true, Bethesda Softworks has cancelled The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion for the PSP. The title had been outsourced to Climax, which apparently ran into too many problems building the portable RPG spinoff. The game may only be on ice, but either way don’t expect to see it anytime soon – if ever…”
Thinking about it now, cramming a massive game like Oblivion into a portable device doesn’t sound like an easy task. Guess we’ll have to wait and see how this all turns out. Either way, you might want to get your pre-order deposit back just to be on the safe side.

I didn’t even know they were going to do that. I’m extremely disappointed at this rumor.

funnily enough i don’t think oblivion should have been on 360 either, it ran like crap and glitched all over the place on that hardware.

@Shock2k7
the only real reason to get a PSP is to mod it.
and it’s a fine system.

Oh come on, I KNEW this was fake from the beginning. If they didn’t want to touch the Nintendo Wii, why would they try to get the game on a PORTABLE?

Yeah, it doesn’t seem likely to me either, but I still think that they shouldn’t lie.

@shock
The PSP is indeed mostly lame when it comes to PSP games. Mod it though, and you can have 20 years of classic gaming in your back pocket…call that lame why dontcha?
