Obsidian: Uplay Not Used in South Park: The Stick of Truth

Ugh.

That’s my reaction when I go to boot up Far Cry 3 or Assassin’s Creed IV and remember I first have to navigate Ubisoft’s clunky digital platform, Uplay.

Good news for those of us who would prefer avoiding Uplay whenever possible: Obsidian has announced that South Park: The Stick of Truth is a Steam game and does not feature Ubisoft’s Uplay at all.

Word came down via a series of tweets on Obsidian’s Twitter:

Obsidian didn’t state specifically why South Park won’t include Uplay, but it’s likely because it only became an Ubisoft game when it was in its final stages of development. THQ owned Stick of Truth before going belly up in 2012.

my only question: why $59.99, why not $49.99 or even $39.99
