Oh Noes! PS3 Hack Cheats Trophies; Sony Working on Fix

Sony is looking into the latest in Playstation 3 homebrew hacks, one which lets players unlock game trophies without actually earning them. The horror.

It’s the latest security breach since the PS3 doors were blown off with the release of the console’s root key, apparently allowing anybody with a programming background free reign to screw with Sony’s machine. As you might have guessed, Sony is not happy about it. Neither are its lawyers.

Sony told CVG today that it’s aware of the hack and is looking to fix it. They wouldn’t comment much about the situation because it’s a security issue, but they did say the solution will probably come as a network update.
