Pain Heads to the Movie Studio with Buzz in November
It took far too long to get a new environment for Pain after its release last November — it was only in September that we finally got a change in scenery. The third area is being release much more promptly, though; if the amusement park wasn’t to your liking or your simply want even more Pain content, Sony will be releasing the ‘Movie Studio’ area in November. No price has been announced, but we know what it will add.
By popular demand, there will now be more than a single launcher location, which is something that should have been added when the game was first released. Now, there will be three different locations to wreak havoc from within the movie studio. The ‘Fun with Explosives’ game mode will be playable even if you’re playing by yourself, and both HORSE and Bowling will make a return, coming alongside the new ‘Cratetastic’ mode, which is described as Spank the Monkey with explosives rather than monkeys. You’ll also get a new character — Buzz, from the line of PlayStation trivia games of the same name — provided you achieve certain things that are required to unlock him. And, of course, there will be new Trophies.
The previous expansion area, Pain: Amusement Park, cost $6, so expect the movie studio area to come in at around that price point. Personally I can’t help but be suckered into these mini-expansions since I have a lot of fun every time I play Pain. There’s just something inherently fun about spanking monkeys and throwing mimes through sheets of glass. Surely it’s not just me?
