Panasonic Announces Online Handheld Gaming Device

That’s it. That’s the gaming thing I was talking about earlier today. It’s the Panasonic Jungle, and here’s what it’s got: a full qwerty keyboard, a touch-sensitive d-pad and button pad, a Linux-based OS, mini-USB and min-HDMI ports and a standard headphone jack. As the headline says, it’s all about online gaming, and when I say “online gaming,” I mean MMO gaming; it’s launching with Battlestar Galactica Online and some sort of online show. So the reason this was on Dyrdek’s show is because the bro is making a jingle for it. OK.

I don’t really know what to make of this yet. I guess it could be cool or something, but we haven’t really seen it in action, so I don’t know. The idea of it seems a bit too niche to really catch on, though, particularly since for all we know it just has the one game, and a webshow will never be a selling point. Here’s a little video about it.
