Paradox Announces New Fleet Command RTS Ancient Space
Paradox Interactive has unveiled Ancient Space, a new RTS that will make players the commander of their own warfleet.
The game, which is being developed in cooperation with Creative Forge Gamess, was announced in a press release where the company described a space-based title that will give players the chance to build their own fleets that they’ll then lead into battle.
“Ancient Space is a single-player, real-time strategy title that puts the player in command of a fleet conducting a scientific mission on the edge of the known universe, charting what lies beyond in ‘The Black Zone,’” said the publisher. “A rich and compelling story will guide the player as they build and upgrade their fleets and then survive overwhelming odds in deadly strategic missions.”
Accompanying the game’s announcement was a new trailer that opens with some exposition to explain the story premise, but then quickly shifts into gameplay footage that’s filled to the brim with all the flashy, explosive, ship-to-ship action that games of this sort tend to come coupled with. According to the press release, the game will be releasing for PC and Mac in Fall 2014. In other words, if you can’t find the patience to wait for Homeworld Remastered to launch, this might be what you need to tide you over until then.
