Paradox Releases New War of the Roses, Shadow Effect Videos

Paradox has released videos for two of its upcoming — and very different games: the medieval multiplayer combat game War of the Roses, and its 80′s action movie parody The Showdown Effect, by the devilish minds behind Magicka.

Senior Producer of War of the Roses Gordon Van Dyke details the differences in the game’s ranged arsenal, from longbows to flintlock pistols. War of the Roses will feature an impressive total of 60 weapon types, which has excited the medieval weapon buff within me.

In stark contrast the the dark ages is the campy 2.5D sidescroller The Showdown Effect. Arrowhead’s Design Director Emil Englund and Paradox Interactive Producer Shams Jorjani field community questions while live-streaming gameplay:

That looks like a whole barrel of fun. A shotgun barrel. Filled with Africanized killer bees. Laced with C4.
