You’ll notice she said they would continue to support HD-DVD. She didn’t say that they WOULDN’T go dual format, which was the substance of the Financial Times story.

Who actually cares about junk like this? The same people that faithfully watch Entertainment Tonight? Too bad most of them are so neurotic that they’ve owned both formats since day number one. This whole topic has been retarded since it first arose many years back; only thing worse is the alleged “wrongdoing” associated with the lame ass Writers’ strike. People, there ARE other things to do with your life! For thousands of years people got by just fine without garbage like this…

Of course they deny it. They are under contract to not speak of Blu ray, but we all know that when the contract runs out one of two things will happen:
Paramount will go Blu-ray exclusive or Paramount will support both formats. If Paramount does ‘go blu’ then there will tremendeous pressure if not legal action taken against Universal.

Note that the quote says: “current plan” Current is the key word, leaving me to believe that in the future the answer is yes, they will support blu ray.

(I wouldn’t doubt that there is a warehouse somewhere full of Paramount Blu ray films just waiting for the day the contract runs out.)

At the end of the day it doesnt really matter if the HD-DVD group think they have lost or not because everyone else thinks they have and that means they have.
