Path of Exile Boasts 2 Million Registrations

Grinding Gear Games has published a press release boasting that their Diablo-like action RPG Path of Exile has amassed up to two million registered players since its launch.

“We’re really pleased with Path of Exile’s reception. It blew our expectations out of the water and continues to grow every day,” said producer Chris Wilson. “The continued feedback and support from our fans has been great. We expect to add a lot of new content and features during the Open Beta period as we approach full release later this year.”

The game, while free to play, offers a system of “ethical” microtransactions that provide players with options to customize how their characters look without offering an unfair advantage over other players. The game also boasts one of the most comprehensive skill systems in an action RPG, allowing players to design their characters as they please with a wide array of skills and abilities to choose from, many of which are tied to the weapons and gear they equip.

The game’s developer says it plans to keep the game up to date with the addition of new skills and items as long as the game continues to remain popular.
