Path of Exile Will Enter Version 1.0 in Six Months
Path of Exile has spent the last few months in open beta, free for the public to play. All progress made by players within the game’s open beta will even carry over to the game’s “final” release, which has since been dated for launch in six months.
The studio developing the game, Grinding Gear Games, announced today that they plan to bring Path of Exile to version 1.0 in six months.
Speaking to Joystiq, the company’s co-founder Chris Wilson said that the game is currently sitting at two million registered players, and that the team has been diligently providing patches and updates in accordance to players’ wishes and feedback as it continues to move towards the final, retail version of the game.
Once the game hits version 1.0, it’ll continue to be updated as normal with plans for expansions “over the next five to ten years.” Wilson did not disclose a proper timeline for what their plans are with the game moving forward, but said that major features like new acts will be released once a year.
