Payday: The Heist Gets a New Trailer, Release Date

Co-op first-person shooter Payday: The Heist will be hitting Steam and the Playstation Network next week — Oct. 18, to be precise. And if you’re not excited, you might want to check out the trailer below, in which many SWAT cops are shot.

For those not in the know, Payday is a Left 4 Dead-style crime romp, the missions in which require players to steal things, take hostages, break out prisoners and hijack stuff. It’s like every crime movie you’ve ever seen, and I hope it plays as well in reality as it does in my brain.

This game has me thinking its a Kane & Lynch Dead Men crime romp with more players.

The concept seems cool, but I’m not so sure it will fly past a couple of months like everything else. Look where K&L DM is. Hell look at where RO2, Hard Reset, E.Y.E Divine are in the player stats, and those are newer PC exclusives.

With that its seems this just another cheap shooter, etc to further saturate down the FPS market, pushing DLC, scratching to get their hands on a small slice, or even crumbs of the COD/BF pie $$$.
