Peter Molyneux On Tap for a Lifetime Achievement Award
GDC is coming up soon (at the end of February), and aside from, like, the cool news that comes out of there, folks like the Game Developers Choice Awards. Like all awards ceremonies, pretty much, this one features a lifetime achievement award. In most media, the award will go to some old person, but since there aren’t many of those in gaming, they give ‘em to middle aged folks. In the 2011, that person is Lionhead Studios’ Peter Molyneux, the creator of things like Populous, Theme Park, The Movies and Fable.
That’s not a wildly spectacular lineup, but I can safely say I’ve been happy with everything he’s made aside from the ending of Fable III (sorry, bro, you know I love you). Also, he has been at this s–t for a long time and his influence on gaming certainly cannot be denied.
So, GDC, good choice.
Game Front will be at GDC, and if you’re lucky, I’ll angrily livetweet the awards show. So watch out.
