Petition for Final Fantasy VII Remake More Than Doubles Its Signatures

Wow, it’s been over a year since we last checked in on that online petition to remake Final Fantasy VII. To be honest, our interest kind of waned after the petition was sent off to Square Enix, who responded essentially with a “not right now, maybe later.” But that hasn’t dissuaded the fans from voicing their interest in a remake and of course adding their signatures to the petition. In the past year, it seem the number of signatures has more than doubled and is now fast approaching the 50,000 mark. Sadly, Squeenix has remained tight-lipped on the subject and offered the same response in that time period. But hey, it never hurts to try, so once again we at Gaming Today would like to ask you to please:

At this point, I’m pulling more for a re-release on a portable console, since I’d rather have my Final Fantasy to go. Besides, they’ve done with most of the old games in the series through the SNES era, so the PSOne is the only library left to mine now.

Why are some people so obsessed with this? The original FF VII is already pretty good. It would be better if Square used their money and resources to come up with new and original games as opposed to contributing to the endless cycle of remakes.

JESUS CHRIST YOU STUPID TEENTARDS!!!!! stop with the ff7 obsession, you were like toddlers when it came out! FF6 is THE superior final fantasy, anyway. gawd.

So many haters.
After all these years and games, this is still my FAVORITE game. Best characters,Story and Definitely loved the music.
Sqeenix advertising FF7 in Crisis core saying “To be Continued in Final Fantasy 7″ is BS lol. to be continued 10 years ago.

not a teentard… or whatever that is. Not a toddler when it came out either. Loved FF6 as well, but it will never have as warm a spot in my heart as FF7 did. Put it this way: I even remember being absolutely stunned by the high quality of the FF7 graphics… which now is a little embarrassing… I think that since it’s release, I’ve probably played my way through it once every two years or so. And I have never once given up halfway through. I know it’s a long shot, but I can’t help but hope and pray for a remake.
