Petition To Convince Rockstar To Make PC GTA V Created
If you’re like us, you’re going a little crazy wondering why the hell Rockstar hasn’t just announced a PC version of GTA V. The suspicious lack of commitment one way or the other is maddening, and despite frequent questions, so far they’re only willing to say that it’s “up for consideration.” Why? Maybe it’s residual hangover from Hot Coffee, but whatever the cause, they’re really dragging their feet.
Enter Mike Julliard from Yarmouth, Canada. He’s a dedicated PC gamer unhappy at the prospect of a PC-free GTA V, so he’s started a Change.org petition designed to convince Rockstar not to let us down. Yeah, apparently the creation of petitions is the new blogging, because everything under the sun now has a petition in favor of, or against it. But in this instance we approve. Jillard writes “GTA games have been a large part of so many peoples lives and it’s a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform. Things like modifications have always been a HUGE part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have. I hope you consider the release of GTA V on PC as it’ll make many people very happy!”
We agree. We also think they’re absolutely planning to make a PC GTA V and are just playing coy. One theory shared with our editor holds that Rockstar is going to time the release to encourage console sales first and foremost, and given the realities of the current gaming market, that sounds about right to us. still, we hope they’ll announce soon, and that they’ll end up with a simultaneous release.
If you’d like to sign the petition, you can check it out here. It probably won’t have any effect on processes already underway, but it might convince any weak kneed delayers that there’s no risk.
