PixelJunk Shooter Burrows Into PC, Mac, Linux In November
One of my all-time favorite PS3 games is finally making its way to the PC. And Mac. And Linux!
PixelJunk Shooter will hit all three platforms (via Steam) on November 11th, with an $8.99 price tag in the ‘States. The port is being done by Double Eleven, a British developer known for bringing quality titles like LittleBigPlanet and Limbo over to the PS Vita. The studio has experience with the PixelJunk family, too, as it brought the enhanced PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD to the Vita, PC, Linux, and Mac earlier this year.
My only gripe here is the lack of PixelJunk Shooter 2 love. I’m sure a port is coming soon, but an “Ultimate HD” version of both Shooter titles in one SKU would be a winner, for sure.
The Double Eleven blog post:
As part of our enduring mission with Kyoto based Q-Games to bring more PixelJunk to more people, we are proud to announce the impending arrival of PixelJunk Shooter!
We are bringing the original PixelJunk Shooter to PC, Mac and Linux this November the 11th. In PixelJunk™ Shooter, players pilot their spacecraft through a range of cavernous environments in a bid to save the scientists trapped underground. Making your way through the game requires you to solve environmental puzzles by manipulating fire, ice, water and even a strange black magnetic liquid. All while coming under fire from a vast range of enemies and all set to a buttery soundtrack!
Our first update to the PixelJunk franchise was PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate which was released on PlayStation Vita®, PC, Mac and Linux earning an 84% Metacritic.
PixelJunk Shooter will be available via Steam and selected partners on the 11th of November. The game will go on sale for $8.99/£5.99/€6.99.
