Platinum Games Announces Anarchy Reigns
It had been a little while since we last heard from Platinum; they released the quite awesome Vanquish and the putrid beyond belief Bayonetta during the 2010 calendar year, but we didn’t know what they were working on after that. Now we do.
They’ve got a new brawler in development called Anarchy Reigns, which is as Japanese as titles get this side of “Hyperdimension Neptunia.” Words:
With ANARCHY REIGNS, PlatinumGames will be using their hallmark creativity and technical excellence to challenge the boundaries of the conventional brawler genre by allowing multiple players to get involved in heavy-hitting action simultaneously. ANARCHY REIGNS incorporates a diverse range of multiplayer modes to provide players with different challenges, including Tag Team battles and Battle Royal, where players can challenge others in a full-on fight for victory.
How can I expect this game to be good when Platinum is seemingly unaware that EVERY BRAWLER EVER let multiple players play at once? Also, I don’t think it’s a good sign that Bayonetta’s absurd body frame is making an appearance here.
JK, Sega. I’ll reserve judgment. The f”fight against your friends” angle could be cool. This game will be out on Xbox 360 and PS3 in the fall.
