Play-Asia Bringing True Arcade Action Back From the Dead

Are classic arcade shooters a thing of the past? If it’s up to Play-Asia and their partners, we’ll be seeing more of the classic genre revitalized. Their current project is Soldner-X: Himmelssturmer, a futuristic shooter that brings back all the action of the arcade shooters of the past with modern graphics and gameplay.

Leading online retailer Play-Asia.com has initiated a video game developed by the ambitious new team SideQuest Studios, thus entering the development business with a first project, published and distributed by eastasiasoft, entitled “Soldner-X: Himmelssturmer” (URL: www.soldner-x.com). This is to be the first step in reaching the publisher’s goal to recreate seemingly â$Ëœlost’ game genres and consequently bring back true arcade action and fun to the home.

Set in the distant future, the game is a fast and furious shoot ‘em up with state- of-the-art graphics, driving soundtrack and classic fun gameplay sprinkled with fresh innovations. In the storyline, planet Earth’s resistance aims to stop a deadly infection consuming both life forms and technology alike, oddly having to rely on an anti-hero mercenary and bounty hunter to pilot a mighty prototype star fighter. His goal: To fight his way to the virus’ origin, save civilization and earn cash to boot!
