Play Brink for Free on Steam This Weekend, Plus Bethesda Adds Clans, Tournaments

Hey, remember Brink? The class-based free-running first-person shooter got swallowed up for a while there amid the tidal wave of 2011 shooters, followed by the tidal wave that is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. But guess what? It’s back, with new support for cool things.

Detailed on Bethesda’s Blog, Brink is going on a free-to-play weekend on Steam starting, uh, now (it’s also just $4.99 on Steam if you buy it this weekend). And Bethesda is rolling out new features — specifically, clan support and tournaments. In order to jump into all that stuff, you need to sign up online using a code that links your copy of the game to Bethesda’s online services. The code is available from an in-game menu, and you’ll need to take it to battle.brinkthegame.com to redeem it.

ATI/AMD Users beware

AMD/ATI Owners have had a hard road.
The Driver version and / or The Hotfix version that helps performance seems to be on a PC to PC basis.
