Play Digital’s Video Review of Mass Effect

The latest video review up on Play Digital is a look at Mass Effect, the latest offering in the melding of RPG and FPS. Mass Effect offers a solid storyline in a game universe that feels fleshed out and populated.

As opposed to a written review such as the one recently published on Gaming Today, a video review relies more on showing off the game which makes for a review with a different feel to it.

Play Digital’s video host Katherine gives gamers a glimpse into Mass Effect:

Today we look at Mass Effect – MASS EFFECT!! The action RPG we’ve all been waiting for. I’m here to tell you that it’s more than just the hotly anticipated interspecial lesbian sex scenes that will sell this baby – take your pick from stunning graphics, a deep plot with interesting themes, well drawn multi-dimensional characters you will come to really care about, a gorgeous soundtrack, solid combat system… *sigh*

I don’t like her mention of how hard it is to manage inventory. I found that it was a fairly simple system and this is one RPG where inventory is really not a big issue. I do wish there had been more weapons and more items, but the management system is fine for what items the game has.
