Play Mists of Pandaria, Heart of the Swarm at Gamescom
Blizzard isn’t holding its annual Blizzcon this year, but if you want to get your mitts on a keyboard attached to one of the two new games the World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2 developer is working on, gamescom 2012 is now a viable option. If you happen to be in Cologne, Germany, that is.
The European games conference runs Aug. 15-19, and will have both the next expansion of World of Warcraft, Mists of Pandaria, and the next game in the StarCraft 2 series, Heart of the Swarm, on-hand, Blizzard has revealed in a blog post. Aug. 16 will also see the world premiere of Mists of Pandaria’s opening cinematic.
Gamescom is the biggest game convention there is, so despite not having Blizzcon this year, it seems Blizzard is still anxious to get its upcoming titles in front of gamers’ faces. The post doesn’t mention whether the new hands-on builds will be different from what has already been shown, however: we’ve seen a significant portion of Mists of Pandaria’s high-level content, as well as its entire opening 10 levels. As for Heart of the Swarm, it’d be nice to see some more of what Blizzard has on offer in terms of the single-player campaign, but more likely are multiplayer battles with new units.
