Playstation Tweets About Thief 4 for Some Unknown Reason

Sometimes, a thing just happens, and you don’t know why it happened or what it means that it happened, but you definitely do know that it happened. Something like that happened last night, when the official Playstation Twitter feed farted out this gem: “Oh man: http://www.thief4.com/”
This is not an announcement of the game, because we already knew it exists, and that site has been up for while already. Now, the tweet has been removed from the feed’s timeline, and Eidos told Connected Consoles that Thief 4 won’t be at E3. For now, we have no idea what’s happening, and I won’t even bother speculating because it would be pointless.
But I will take a moment to bitch about that image there. THI4F? Really? What purpose does that serve other than to confuse people? It certainly doesn’t make it clear that you’re talking about the fourth iteration of the Thief series, and, jeez, “4″ doesn’t look anything like “E.” IT DOES NOT TRANSLATE, EIDOS MARKETING.
More on this when/if it makes sense.
