Please Welcome Diablo 3′s Newest Game Breaking Bug: Error 3006

Yeah, Diablo 3 has launched with several serious bugs bedeviling frustrated fans. But hang on, are you still talking about the WIN-FINAL.MPQ bug, the stuck at updating setup errors, and the infamous Error 37? Hah, loser. Everyone knows they’re already completely played out. The cool new way to ruin your Diablo 3 experience is Error 3006.

Error 3006 reportedly causes players to be booted out of Diablo 3 upon, or shortly after, meeting the Templar follower (which happens pretty early in the game), accompanied by an ‘Error 3006′ message. According to Eurogamer, some players report that it happens when you equip the follower with a shield, and that it may be limited to the Demon Hunter class. Because the other classes are only going along with the mainstream bugs.

Naturally this has to be infuriating, but Blizzard is on it. Via Twitter, they’re confirming that a hotfix is on the way. No ETA on that yet, though. So stay tuned. While we wait, have you experienced this issue? Let us know in comments.

You’d think this type of thing, especially so early along in game progress would be found and resolved in Beta testing. Oh wait they don’t call it Beta testing any longer. Now its just Beta with apparently no testing. I’m happily at work reading about everyone who paid to test Blizzards new game.
