Pre-order AfterFall: InSanity for Just a Buck

As pre-order gimmicks go, this is a pretty good one.

Developer Intoxicate Studios is trying to sell 10 million copies of AfterFall: InSanity before the survival-horror game‘s release on Nov. 25. That’s kind of an insane number, so what are they doing? Why, they’re selling each copy for a dollar, that’s what. Suddenly, 10 million seems a little more manageable.

Kind of like the Humble Indie Bundle, Intoxicate and publisher Nicolas Games intends to give a big chunk of the revenue generated from the pre-orders to charity. The press release to go with the pre-order announcement doesn’t specify just which one — it says “one of the largest charity organizations in the world.” If AfterFall hits its insane 10 million pre-orders mark, 10 percent of the revenue generated goes to charity and everyone who pre-ordered for a dollar gets the full game, plus the soundtrack and their names included in the credits.

If Intoxicate falls short of its 10 million-sale goal, that’s cool too. The revenue generated from the pre-orders for anything less than 10 million sales will go straight to the charity, with the game companies keeping none of it. Unfortunately, that means the rest of us have to pay the full $33.90 for AfterFall: InSanity, although that really doesn’t feel too steep regardless. And you still get the soundtrack.

Get your pre-order at AfterFall’s website, http://afterfall-universe.com/en/buy/. Worth noting: It’ll take you to the Polish version of PayPal. Get your Google Translate button ready.
