Pre-Order BioShock Infinite, Play a Mini-Game To Earn In-Game Rewards

Right now, if you pre-order BioShock Infinite, you won’t get just one game, you’ll get, like, one-and-a-half games.

Irrational Games has just announced the addition of the BioShock Infinite: Industrial Revolution mini-game to your pre-order of BioShock Infinite. Once you lay down the advance money for BioShock, you get the puzzler Industrial Revolution, and here’s the kicker — play that, and you can unlock in-game rewards in Infinite.

Here’s the description of the game from Irrational’s website:

“BioShock Infinite: Industrial Revolution is a puzzle game in which you assume the role of a factory worker within the sky-city of Columbia. You complete increasingly difficult puzzles while learning more about the warring factions in the game and earning in-game rewards.

“There are nearly 60 puzzles to play, and they are all FREE!”

Irrational also says that if you’ve already pre-ordered BioShock Infinite, you’ll need to contact your retailer about getting the Industrial Revolution code. Likely, you’ll need to get the retailer to cancel your pre-order, then re-enter it to get you your Industrial Revolution code.

Though there will be in-game unlocks from the game, don’t expect to be able to purchase them or the mini-game later: Irrational is making it sound like this is the only way to nab them.

Here are the in-game unlocks and other stuff you’ll nab for playing the puzzles:

• 3 Exclusive Gear items: Handyman Nemesis, Sugar Rush, and Fleet Feet
• In-Game cash
• Learn about the city of Columbia and its factions through story chunks.
• Facebook pack that pledges your allegiance for either the Vox Populi or the Founders
