Pre-order Tribes: Ascend, Get in the Closed Beta Nov. 4

Wanna get in the closed beta test for Tribes: Ascend that starts on Nov. 4? You can, and it won’t even cost you anything — if you’re lucky. And if you’re not, you can still get in if you pony up the dough for a pre-order.

Hit the Tribes: Ascend website and you can sign up to receive a code to get into the beta, if you like behind-closed-doors raffling. For a slightly more hands-on approach, you can watch the Hi-Rez Studios Twitter and Facebook accounts for chances to snag codes.

Finally, there’s a surefire way to get into the beta: pre-order the game. You’ll get it at a 1/3rd price discount, and “elite status,” according to Hi-Rez Chief Operating Officer Todd Harris. He wasn’t super-specific about what that means, though.

I hope that Tribes gameplay can stand the test of time.

Brandon, so do I. Actually, I know the Tribes gameplay can stand the test of time. I just hope this new Tribes title incorporates classic Tribes gameplay and doesn’t try to “bring it up to date.” That would be the kiss of death for this game.

No way am I pre-ordering this. Not after Tribes: Vengeance. Hype screwed me over last time for $40.

And isn’t this going to be a f2p with micro-transactions for the impatient? So by pre-ordering, you’re paying to beta or want day #1 advantage?

Anyway, you guys who get in on the beta better let us know how it is.

@Steve yea, I was gonna say that. I thought I had heard this it was going to be f2p also. I hope it will be good but I don’t plan on per-ordering, they are going to have a hard enough time getting players out of BF3 is it gets last minute fixes that it needs.
