Precursor Games Relaunches Shadow of the Eternals Kickstarter
Precursor Games has announced the resumption of its Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for Shadow of the Eternals. The game was temporarily canceled this past June after it failed to garner enough interest to fund its lofty $1.5 million goal on Kickstarter.
Shadow of the Eternals is described as the spiritual successor to the GameCube survival horror game Eternal Darkness, made by some of the original developers at Silicon Knights. The relaunch of the Kickstarter seeks a much less ambitious goal of $750,000. It’s also got David Hayter onboard to voice one of its main characters.
While most Kickstarters have been aided by their original creators, Denis Dyack’s presence on the original Kickstarter was regarded by many as a hinderance to the project, rather than a benefit.
In any case, Precursor is back with a new Kickstarter campaign, and its developers are looking to develop Shadow of the Eternals for PC and Wii U. A PlayStation 4 version is listed as a stretch goal. Like Eternal Darkness, it’ll be a spooky action game which jumps between characters across time, wrestling with ancient evils.
Here’s a trailer of the game as a work-in-progress:
