‘Pretend’ to Be Batman in a Video Game, Just Like Real Life
The guys behind the F.E.A.R. series want to dress you up like Batman and let you go patrol Gotham City. I’m seriously hoping you don’t get any of the gadgets or training, and that your armor is made out of hockey pads and your mask has a thin piece of rubber holding it on.
Warner Bros. announced the first-person downloadable title, Gotham City Impostors, in which players will gang up to bring vigilante justice to an “unhinged Gotham City overrun by impostors inspired by the DC Comics characters Batman and The Joker.” It’ll also be a first-person shooter, in order to sound even weirder.
“Posing as amateur vigilantes or villains, gamers will create their very own Bats and Jokerz characters using unprecedented customization options including insane costumes, homebrewed gadgets and a wide range of traditional and imagined weapons,” the press release says. It also calls it a “creative twist on multiplayer heroism and anti-heroism.”
Not to be all negative this early in the process, but everybody knows this is what happens to you when you dress up like Batman and you’re not Bruce Wayne:
However, if Monolith lets us jump off the roof of the Venture Compound with an umbrella, I’ll buy this immediately.
