Pandemic’s Jonathan Zamkoff has visions of taking mercenary mayhem to the seas with some underwater missions in Mercenaries 3. Zamkoff is confident there will be a Mercenaries 3 and has some radical ideas for it already.
“We probably would be looking at underwater gameplay – submarines, scuba tanks and underwater action,” Zamkoff said, when asked where the series might go next.”
“I think it would be really cool in Mercs to do some more submersible stuff – take an underwater vehicle and plant some C4 at the base of an oilrig.”
Zamkoff would also like to expand multiplayer co-op for four even 16 players.
According to Eurogamer, Zamkoff says with Mercs 2 out in a matter of months there is a question of whether there will be a PlayStaion Network and XBL demo.
“It’s to be decided right now,” says Zamkoff. “We certainly have ambitions to do so, but we’ve got a pretty tight window.”
Watch for a Mercenaries 2 preview/interview coming out on Eurogamer soon.
