PS3 Firmware v2.20 Now Available Sans Rumored Portable Copy Support

Despite rumors that it would be included, Portable Copy support is not among the features you’ll find when you update your PlayStation 3 firmware to v2.20, available now. It does, however, contain all of the features I reported about last week, including support for BD-Live. There’s no connection between this and Portable Copy (which is a feature that would allow you to send your Blu-ray movies to your PSP to watch portably, albeit in lower quality) but as far as we know, the feature is still in the works, so sit tight.

You’ll find a video with Sony’s Eric Lempel walking through some of the new firmware features. It should give you something to do while you sit through the always excruciatingly long firmware installations that PS3 owners suffer through.
