PS3 IntensaFire Puts Accessory Customization in Your Hands
The new PS3 IntensaFIRE from BGRMods allows gamers to take on console customization. With this mod kit gamers can convert their PS3 Dual Shock 3 to a rapid fire controller. The IntensaFIRE includes 5 preset modes, including rapid fire sleeper settings on R1, R2, and X and 3 additional programmable modes for user customization.
BGRMods promises the average gamer should be able to install the mod kit in two minutes or less with no tools. With comparable prefabricated rapid fire controllers running for around $150, at half the price the IntensaFIRE seems like an affordable alternative.
The IntensaFIRE works with BattleField Bad Company 2, Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, KillZone 2 and other current and future FPS and fighting titles.
I know that rapid-fire versions of controllers were popular in the 8 and 16-bit era, but I wonder how applicable they are in modern context. I mean rapid fire doesn’t seem to be a benefit in a game like Call of Duty or Battlefield.. it just means I will be struggling to hold the target in the crosshair more when the controller goes spastic. Admittedly though, it’s still a nice little “cheat” for fighters like Super Street Fighter IV or Marvel vs. Capcom.
